French cinema has earned itself a name for providing dark, gritty and moody action films, and “Go Fast” is no different. Following Marek (Zem) a police officer desperate to avenge the death of his partner and close friend, the movie follows Marek’s assignment to a squad of drug-enforcement officers, using fast cars to track drug traffickers. What follows is something like a European “The Fast And The Furious” with much more story and less effects, although the driving team and stunts come from the same people behind “The Transporter.” Unfortunately, the story doesn’t quite have enough twists and turns to keep things interesting, and even the stunts (when they do happen) are a pale imitation of other similar films. Nonetheless, “Go Fast” is an interesting film that still manages to keep some good spills and thrills going throughout the film. VERDICT:A French action film that’s well worth a look, but that may not win any new fans for the genre.
