The Quare Fellow by Brendan Behan

A stunning revival of Brendan Behans landmark play. 56 years after its first performance in the 50 seater Pike Theatre, The New Theatre: Dublin (66 seater) will honour the spirit of Brendan Behan, Alan Simpson and Carolyn Swift (founders of The Pike) by once again staging a huge theatrical work in a small intimate space. The play is set in Mountjoy Jail on the day and night before the unnamed Quare Fellow is to be hanged for murdering his brother. Brendan Behan had spent time in the same jail for his IRA activities.

The hugely popular Irish stand-up and host of BBC 2’s Mock the Week, Dara O Briain, is hitting the road with a brand new stand-up show for 2010. He will perform live @ Vicar St. for various dates in January and February and now due to demand an extra 12 dates have been added for next September. Renowned for his topical humour, story-telling and relentless delivery this show brings together hilarious anecdotes and top-class audience banter. Dara is no stranger to Vicar St. where he has sold out over 20 nights – with more to come. On top of his growing reputation around the world as a leading comedian, Dara has also been busy with numerous TV projects. As well as the hugely popular “Mock The Week” Dara is currently filming another series of Three Men in Another Boat, which featured Griff Rhys Jones and Rory McGrath and received ratings of 4 million viewers. He also appeared in hosting Live at the Apollo on BBC. Dara has also written a new book entitled “Tickling The English” currently on release.

Electric Picnic extends another warm invitation to all lovers of music, art, culture and general frivolity to their annual little get-together in Stradbally, Co Laois on 3 - 5 September. A tantalizing world to entice and enthrall you, tickle and tease you. Now in it\'s seventh year the ship\'s sails are fully hoisted and the journey Electric Picnic annually embark on is becoming more of a home-coming than a new exploration, although taking unknown and adventurous paths along the way is compulsory. Set in Ireland in 1890s, TIC is an intriguing tale of threatened love which explores the predicament of a beautiful Anglo-Irish woman afflicted by a condition nobody understands; Tourettes Syndrome. In an unforgiving period of ignorance and superstition, the plays premise is based on whether or not a couples love can overcome a societys rigid intolerance.


The Circus Of Horrors - Dr Hazes Freak Show

It is a staggering 15 years since it first trampled the bloody boards and has since toured relentlessly around the World achieving cult status and dragging Circus screaming and shouting into the 21st century and beyond. For 2010 the show has has had a major revamp & is now back rockin’ & shockin’ with a series of different fangtastic new Phantasmagorias’ all created especially to celebrate its 15th bloody year. In September, the show reinacts a Victorian Freak Show at The Great Dorset Steam Fair, performing in a specially made booth that is an exact replica to the Freak shows & side shows of over 100 years ago. This is without a doubt a musical masterpiece with the pulsating Devil driven Rock n Roll of Dr Haze & he Interceptors From Hell.
