| Britney Could Be Dead In Six Months Pyschologist Dr. Lillian Glass has declared that should Britney continue on her path of destruction she will have no more than 6 months to live. No this is not a threat on her life; Dr. Glass believes that unless Britney is “locked away or put into a treatment program, she is going to die in six months, or even sooner.” This, no doubt, comes after speculation over Britneys recent strapping to a gurney as she was rushed from her LA pad. Meanwhile Britney tries to confuse the paps as she says she is flying to New York, Hawaii and Las Vegas, and a number of other locations, only to arrive in Baja, Mexico. | |

| Writers Strike Ongoing More than 12,000 movie and TV writers are represented by the Writers Guild of America, West and East divisions, in their contract with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers. While writer-producers may take home up to $5m a year, there are many junior writers who take home $50,000 or less. According to the stats released by the Guild in November 2007, there are more than 48% of West Coast Writers taking home this low pay. With this in mind, the union went on strike on November 5th 2007, much to the support of leading actors across Hollywood. This has been the first industry wide strike since 1998 (where the industry lost $500m). The writers dissatisfaction lies with the fact that they do not receive royalties for DVD/Video/online sales from the films or TV programmes they have written, while directors, producers and actors are all open to receive royalties. Those to be hit first by the strike were current affairs shows, such as The Daily Show With Jon Stewart," "The Colbert Report," "Late Night With Conan O'Brien" and "the Tonight Show With Jay Leno," which all rely on writers to provide monologues and entertaining quips. Though the impact on the production of movies and television series will not follow until a later date, as the scripts for many of these series and films have been written way in advance, the producers are due to run out of material early this year. This has meant that pilot shows for programmes previously deemed unfavourable for production are now being considered for airing – simply to provide material for viewing. The contract that expired on October 31st 2007, outlined pay agreements for writers;
The six major film studios must pay a minimum of $106,000 for an original screenplay.
Networks must pay at least $20,956 for a teleplay or a prime-time comedy show and $30,823 for a prime-time drama.
While many writers take home an argueably handsome pay each year, their salary is minimal when compared to the actors they write for. The guild has stated that the increase in writers wages have risen at less than half the rate of entertainment industry profits.

The star was seen sporting her new blonde hair only last week, but it seems she has dug up her old wig, woohoo! This comes shortly after a video emerged of Winehouse where she can clearly be seen smoking, you guessed it CRACK. The crack pipe was clearly visible in the film, as Amy is seen to light the pipe while standing in front of her wedding picture. | 24 Star Does 48 Day Stint Kiefer Sutherland was released from Glendale City Jail on Monday, after successfully completing his 48 day jail term for DUI (unlike some prima donna hotel heiresses who shall remain nameless). His only visitor during the stint was his lawyer, but the award winning actor received numerous letters from fans around the world while holed up. I’m sure he had a birthday to remember too as he spent the day behind bars, indulged in his daily duties of washing and folding. (I wonder if his cake read “Happy Birthday prisoner 1085109?) While Sutherland remains on 5 years probation, his show will go on, as 24 producers planned to shoot the series around his jail time. | |
| Brad Renfro Dies Aged 25 Actor Brad Renfro, whose career began promisingly with a childhood role in "The Client" but rapidly faded as he struggled with drugs and alcohol, was found dead Tuesday 15th Jan in his home. He was 25. Paramedics pronounced him dead at 9 a.m., said Craig Harvey, chief investigator for the Los Angeles County coroner's office. The cause of death was not immediately determined, Harvey said, but an autopsy could be conducted as early as Wednesday. Renfro had reportedly been drinking with friends the evening before his death and Renfro's lawyer, Richard Kaplan, said he did not know whether the death was connected to any previous problems with drug addiction. "He was working hard on his sobriety," Kaplan said. "He was doing well. He was a nice person." In May 2006, the actor served 10 days in jail after pleading no contest to driving while intoxicated and guilty to attempted possession of heroin. The latter charge stemmed from his arrest in Los Angeles' Skid Row area, when he attempted to buy heroin from an undercover officer in 2005. For several years he was better known for that drug bust and the resulting criminal case than for acting. | |

Phil McGraw ran to Britney's "aid" after her recent meltdown, ensuring to make his plans to treat Britney public knowledge. Dr.Phil claims Britneys mother Lynn called him asking him to visit her daughter in order to help her sort her life out.
