New Brit Chiller Salvage Coming to Cinamas and DVD This Month!
Described by the media as “thrilling” (Bizarre), “scary and believable” (Sci-Fi London), and “a seriously shocking chiller for our times” (Alan Jones, Frightfest), Salvage , the stunning debut feature from director Lawrence Gough, is a brand new British horror film that redefines the genre with a strong female heroine and a topical plot that positions the terror right on our doorstep.
It’s Christmas Eve and a quiet cul-de-sac is suddenly plunged into a world of violence, terror and paranoia when a group of heavily armed military personnel storms the area, sealing off the close and ordering the residents at gunpoint to retreat inside their homes.
Unsure if this is the first sign of a terrorist attack, or something worse, one local single mother, Beth (Neve Mcintosh), finds it in herself to fight to save her estranged daughter, Jodie (Linzey Cocker), who is visiting her for the holiday but is now stranded across the street in a neighbour’s house. However, with growing dread, the trapped residents soon discover that the imminent threat is far more monstrous than any of them could possibly imagine. Only one thing is certain… survival is no longer guaranteed.
Salvage will open at selected UK cinemas on 19th March 2010 as well as being available on Sky Box Office, iTunes, FilmFlex and LOVEFilM on the same day. It will be also released on DVD on 22nd March 2010.
Johnny Mad Dog Trailer For DVD Out This Mar!
Johnny Mad Dog brings to life the brutal, visceral reality of children caught up in civil wars across Africa.
The eponymous Johnny (Christopher Minie) is the lieutenant of an especially violent gang of young soldiers who believe they are leading a fight against a President they despise in an unnamed African country. The gang’s belief in their cause sees them commit atrocity after atrocity in the name of freedom, with rape, murder and brutalisation the tools in their personal war that is seeing the country fall into a state of ruin.
At the same time, Laokolé (Daisy Victoria Vandy), a 16-year old student in the country’s decimated capital, is attempting to flee the oncoming storm of violence with her baby brother, unaware that her plans will lead her inexorably towards an encounter with Johnny...
Gripping, frank and incredibly raw, JOHNNY MAD DOG is as important as it is affecting. Following an impressive showing at this year’s London Film Festival, the film’s release on DVD delivers a unique opportunity to witness the reality of what war means to the thousands of young lives that inevitably are consumed by it.

The ultimate all-action hero, Bruce Willis, is back with another exhilarating thrill ride in Surrogates. Directed by Jonathan Mostow (Terminator Three: Rise of the Machines, U-571), Surrogates is a heart-pounding futuristic tale of splintered identity, treachery and murder. Both Blu-ray and DVD editions come with an array of bonus features that not only allow audiences to delve deeper into the darkly imaginative world of Surrogates, but explore how this futuristic plot is not so far from reality. These picture perfect, real-life avatars—fit, good-looking, remotely controlled machines that assume their operator’s life role—enable the population to experience life vicariously from the comfort and safety of their own homes. Greer and his partner, Agent Peters (Radha Mitchell), are called in to probe the mysterious death of a college student, whose life ended when his surrogate was destroyed. When Greer’s surrogate is damaged in the investigation, he ventures out of his apartment for the first time in decades. In a world of masks, Greer must decide who is real and who can be trusted.

The Avengers: The Complete Series 3 Out To Own This Feb
The seminal classic The Avengers was at the height of the Cathy Gale era when Series 3 was broadcast to UK audiences. Starring Patrick Macnee as John Steed and Honor Blackman as Dr Cathy Gale, the show’s popularity was such that the producers bestowed a very healthy budget to ensure the series’ success and maintain its position as one of the nation’s favourite shows. Telling highly imaginative stories of secret agents in 1960s Britain, The Avengers is also an early example of the spy-fi genre combining as it does secret agent storylines with science fiction and fantasy elements. Although the writers were not allowed to let characters go beyond first base, Series 3 did establish a level of sexual tension between the characters, which was progressive for 1962-1963. The series revealed that Gale lived in Steed’s flat, and whilst the explanation was that it was a temporary arrangement whilst Gale looked for a new home, and that Steed slept in a hotel, the innuendo was there for all to see. The Gale era also saw Steed transformed from a trenchcoat-wearing run of the mill agent into a stereotypical English gentleman in Savile Row suit, bowler hat and umbrella – a traditional English Gent, though his attire concealed all manner of tricks and gadgets. Gale, on the other hand, was clad in black leather with high-heeled “kinky boots”, an outfit necessary for her high-kicking fighting style. The longest running espionage series produced for English-language television, The Avengers eventually reached audiences in 120 countries, a record that still stands to this day. Now, with the release of The Complete Series 3 on 15th February 2010, you can watch time this timeless classic time and time again.
The Avengers: Complete Series 3 is available to buy on DVD from the 15th February.

The Mentalist Thinks Its Way Onto DVD This March
Follow independent consultant Patrick Jane, as he embarks on a series of crime solving quests, in the critically acclaimed US drama The Mentalist. Patrick Jane played by Golden Globe Award nominee Simon Baker, (Devil Wears Prada, The Guardian,) who works with the California Bureau of Investigation (CBI), has a remarkable track record for solving serious crimes by using his razor sharp skills of observation. Within the Bureau, Jane is notorious for his blatant lack of protocol and his semi-celebrity past as a former psychic medium, whose paranormal abilities he now admits he faked. Jane's role in cracking a series of tough high-profile cases is greatly valued by his fellow agents. However, no-nonsense Senior Agent Teresa Lisbon, played by Robin Tunney (Empire Records, The Craft, Prison Break), openly resists having Jane in her unit and alternates between reluctantly acknowledging Jane’s usefulness and blasting him for his theatrics, narcissism and dangerous lack of boundaries. Lisbon’s team includes agents Kimball Cho (Tim Kang - The Forgotten, Two Weeks Notice), Wayne Rigsby (Owain Yeoman - Generation Kill, Troy) and rookie member Grace Van Pelt (Amanda Righetti- The O.C., Return to House on Haunted Hill), who all think Jane’s a loose cannon but admire his charm and knack for solving cases. Throughout the series Jane uses his mentalist skills to crack a number of complex murder cases including a wealthy banker who is found murdered inside his locked safe house, a school girl who’s body mysteriously washes up on the beach and even a crime where his former psychiatrist is the prime subject. The series was created by Bruno Heller (Rome) with a pilot directed by Emmy winner David Nutter (The Sopranos, Band of Brothers, Supernatural, The X-Files), and broadcast on FIVE earlier this year.
