Alice in Wonderland Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland didn’t have me giddy with excitement. I thought the trailers and poster design suggested a messy, style-over-substance film. However, I was very pleasantly surprised when I attended the screening to find that not only was the film stylish but it also had the wit, charm and plot to back it up. Ok, “substance” might be a strange word to use because everyone knows, Wonderland is not about substance. It is about wonder! And this film has it in droves.

More Than A Game This wonderful documentary is almost two years old at this stage and seems to have gone straight to DVD in this country. My guess would be that the reason for this is the fact that we Irish have little concern for big league US basketball. I’m sure it has its fans but generally it’s not a mainstream sport here. This is a shame though, as many of us will miss out on this brilliant film, made by a friend of the subjects following them from high school, all the way to the NBA and ultimate superstardom.
